I do not care if you smoke...

I am not sure there are a lot of smokers that will read my blog but what the heck

Look - if you want to smoke so be it, it is your right to smoke if you so choose. If you want to go to a place where you are allowed to smoke or you want to smoke in your house or your car - have at it.

HOWEVER -

STOP THROWING YOUR NASTY ASS CIGARETTE BUTTS OUT THE WINDOW OF YOUR CAR OR ON THE GROUND WHEN YOU ARE OUTSIDE SMOKING. STOP EMPTYING YOUR ASH TRAY OF YOUR CAR ON THE GROUND. OUTSIDE YOUR CAR IS NOT A MOVING TRASH BIN - KEEP YOUR DAMN CIGARETTE WASTE IN YOUR CAR!

I actually saw a lady yesterday that was smoking and she put her cigarette out in her ash tray and put the butt in the ash tray - I had to roll down the window to thank he for not littering. While she thought I was kind of weird I thought it only appropriate to thank her for doing the right thing. She could have been like every other car I see - tossing her garbage out on the ground.

When I was working at a large insurance company I could never understand how the sidewalk from the smoking area to the front door of the building was littered with cigarette butts - how come they were not in the provided ash trays in the smoking area? When I was in the Army and we were allowed to smoke we used to strip the cigarette to the filter and placed the filter in your pocket until you got to a garbage can. Try it some - it will work and it will keep our streets and sidewalks clean.

Want to smoke - go ahead
Want to be addicted to nicotine - go ahead
Want to go to bars and fill the room with smoke - go ahead
Want to breath second hand smoke of others - go ahead

Too lazy to throw away your cigarette trash - your smoking rights should be revoked until you can respect the outdoors. I drink water while driving in the car and I do not throw out the bottle every time I am finished.

Deal with it and thanks to all the smokers for your consideration.

As a former smoker (Camel Lights, they were like heaven on earth for many years) I'd just like to apologize for all the butts I threw out. Didn't know it offended you. Also didn't realize how nasty cancer and chemo are. I'm a changed woman.
