AI Review

sorry I am late today - stop calling me - had to get the taxes done - geez people!

first of all - thank goodness no more Beatles - and we were not in jeopardy because no one was alive when Beatles were writing their songs - tonight was pick a song from your birth year - guess there was some controversy because David A's song was from before his year but who cares - he was boring.

Ramiele - Alone by Heart - too bad she picked a song that another contestant did so well in prior weeks - I think it is time for her to go home - I like her but she is just not that impressive - give her a 4

Jason - Happy Birthday Mr Dreads! - Fragile by Sting - decent - I like the laid back vibe but it is certainly not the performer that Idol is looking for - I like this dude - I still say he should at a beach bar or a ski slope - give the man a 5+ - it was his birthday after all.

Syesha - If I were your Woman - I do not know who sings that song and I do not think I have ever heard it before. I thought it was good - she can sing that is for sure - I liked that song for her better than any others - give her a 6+

Chikezie - If Only for One Night by Brenda Russell - never heard it before - would never buy it - and would want my money back if I had to see him sing it - give him a 4+ and put him in the bottom 3

Brooke - Every Breath You Take by The Police - now Brooke is getting boring to me - let me see what she will do this week - sit in front of a piano - slow down a song and sing it, then cry after - she needs to lighten it up some. I thought she was ok - messed up and started over but hey, I heard Jerry Garcia do that many a time. Give her a 5 - good thing she is sweet and likable or she would be in the bottom 3

Michael - We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions by Queen - hey, not bad - when he did Queen earlier he was better - it was decent though - I get the feeling he is trying to get Queen to reunite with him as the front man - No one can replace Freddie though - give him a 6

Carly - Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler - she can sing and I like her (told you it was a popularity contest) I do not think she deserved the bottom 3 last week. BUT what the heck does she wear - last week was bad this week was worse. Give her a 5

David A - Your The Voice by some dude - who cares when this song was made - it was bad - I hate to do this but i agree with Simon - I could see David on stage at Epcot singing this song while some cooky Disney performers dance behind him - then BAM - the fireworks go off over the world showcase. Go David - I will visit you during Food and Wine this year - give him a 4 - no way he goes to the bottom 3 though - too many people like him - he is cute

Kristy - God Bless USA - wow - the ultimate trump card to try and get her out of the bottom 3 finally - might have worked - I could see her headlining the Country Fairs of the US tour - closing each fair singing this song to a bunch of people cheering and drinking Bud. I thought it was good - give her a 5+ - what does she sing next week though - Star Spangle Banner

David C - Billie Jean by Jacko - this tune was kind of haunting and I really dug it - Beth was ready to buy and download it. A little research shows that Chris Cornell did this slowed down version before and it sounded fantastic - I thought David was just as good actually - he even gave some credit to Chris C - unlike when Chris Daugherty copied Live's version of Walk the Line and acted like it was his own arrangement - I think Blake gave credit to 311 when he copied their version of the Cure song (didn't he???) Any way - sorry for the digression - David gets a 8+ and he should be the first person safe this week and like I said 2 weeks ago - he is the best out there right now.

Cheers - again - feel free to disagree just do not tell me my opinion is wrong - your is just different :-)
