Fast Times at Ridgemont High

after losing my hour of sleep last night and not being able to go back to sleep this morning I turned on the tube and watched a movie classic of all time - Fast Times at Ridgemont High - what a great movie. The stars that were in that movie are endless:

Sean Penn - a classic pot smoking high school kid
Jennifer Jason Leigh
Judge Reinhold- nice pirate outfit
Phoebe Cates
Ray Walston - the classic teacher
Forest Whitaker
Eric Stolz
Nicolas Cage - he was listed as Nicolas Coppola in the movie
Anthony Edwards
Taylor Negron - in a bit part as a pizza deliver man
Robert Romanus - the ticket scalper - who can forget his memorable role as Snake Robinson on Facts of Life

The soundtrack was killer too - probably should be a top 10 sounds track:
Jimmy Buffet
Go Gos
Oingo Boingo
Jackson Browne
Don Henley

This movie was written by Cameron Crowe - of Almost Famous, Jerry McGuire and Singles fame

Check it out some time - definitely worth dusting off and watching - just for the great wardrobe that has not gone out of style 25 years later. Gotta love High School!

I agree with everything your blog listed. It was a perfect movie for its time. It was a time of near innocence. Before crack, and meth so intrenched in todays drug use. Okay...it wasnt like the 50's but it was a time of no war. And a far simpler time than now. I wish I was back in those days. I am happy I was in that age group of when that movie came out. Everyone who was in that generation truly appreciates this great movie. My kids dont really find the movie that great. But I hold this movie really relates to the times I had then.
What about this catch phrase overlooked.
Gnarly!
