Featured Athlete

Lauren, her good friend Peter, and Coach Bill enjoying a green beer

We are going to start a regular post here of a Featured Athlete - every few weeks we will feature an athlete and acknowledge their hard work and determination - they get no cash prizes and really nothing but the recognition, but we thought it would be fun.

Here is our first Featured Athlete

Lauren Block - Lauren is a mentor on our Team In Training Team and is fairly new to the sport of triathlon but her determination and athletic ability have taken her far in a short period of time. Lauren did her first race last fall at The House of the Mouse and is currently training to take on the Tri Miami course in a few weeks.

The improvement that Lauren has shown has been awesome - she has followed the Team Hendryx training plan of quality over quantity and her times are improving weekly.

Lauren is just like you - she has a full time job, she juggles home, family and other responsibilities along with her training.

Lauren has already taken minutes off her times from last year in a race at Moss Park and continues to improve. She is a determined athletes and does not want anyone to beat her - she also listens very closely and absorbs all she can about the sport.

Lauren swam a timed 1500 meters last night and took 10 seconds off each 100 from her timed 1000 last month - in a month she has swam farther and faster than her last timed swim.

Lauren continues this progress and we might see her on podium in Miami. After the Tri Miami race Lauren will be training with Team Hendryx to take on the 1/2 Iron distance at Miamiman. We are very excited to work with Lauren in the coming future.

Good Luck and Congrats Lauren
