Congratulations Mr Wenner - you have won...

...repeats up this B%$#H!

Today we rode from the lake front out to the top of Sugarloaf to do some repeats up this lovely stretch of road. We did an easy spin of 17 miles out to the top and on the way down my awesome coach says - let's do 4 repeats - ok? What do you say - no coach I am doing 1 and 1 only - or ok, everyone else is doing it, what the heckles!

before I describe my lovely repeats let me tell you that I ran for 40 minutes (about 5.5 miles) before getting on my bike this morning and to make it worse I spent from 3:00p-12:00a at the UCF game yesterday (yes, I would like you to feel bad for me)

Repeat 1 - not bad - it is my first time on sugarloaf all year and it felt half way decent going up - mixture of standing and sitting. Then back down hill at 40+ mph - I like going down hill.

Repeat 2 - getting worse - now I am on my second time going up sugarloaf this year - normally I would have ridden this road every weekend but time has not been on my side this year. not a bad climb - I did try to really kick it in about half way up and felt the Yuengling getting ready to make an appearance out of my stomach - bad idea - i will just sit here and pedal up it slowly - yeah down hill again

repeat 3 - others going up are watching us go down and I swear they have anger in their eyes - they obviously do not know I am going to turn around at the bottom and head back up - again! hey this hill is getting steeper and longer - are they doing road construction on it while I am riding it - who added the extra 50 miles on this sucker - to the top and back to the bottom.

repeat 4 - this is beyond nutty - who rides something 4 times - come on man - I could be home sleeping - this time going up we pass Kelly from TNT for the 4th time and she says - "this is number 4 huh?" yes it is - "Am I still alive" was my reply. this was actually the easiest because my heart had stopped pumping instead of trying to escape out of my chest and my legs had to detach on repeat 3.

as we gather at the top Sean says "It gets hard after number 2" Hard after 2 - it was hard at 1 and got stupid after 2 :-) Oh well - what does not make your heart explode makes you stronger!

we took the easy way home and ended with a 35 mile ride after a 5+ mile run - time to head home and die - I mean rest!

We will be riding Assault on Sugarloaf next weekend - I know, I know - all this complaining and I am back at it in 7 days - what can I say - you had better have a short memory when it comes to training.

Happy training

Ok...first of all, I do feel sorry for you.

Second...your experience with Sugarloaf is exactly how the rest of us feel with Tom Cruise hill. It's the baby Sugarloaf...but a son'of'a B___ none the less.

Happy recovery!

So funny but so true! Good luck on the ride next weekend. If I were in town, I'd be doing it too (and hurting).
