anyone recognize this person - this is J - Lo finishing the swim at the Malibu Tri this weekend. this race is a celeb fest and a huge fund raiser (they raised over $900,000)
J - Lo made headlines with her quest to finish a tri to lose her baby weight, so she hired a trainer and started working toward her goal. she completed the 1/2 mile swim, 18 mile bike and 4 mile run in 2:23:38 to finish her first race.
Congrats to her - and more importantly she raised over $125,000 for charity.
I will say that if Team Hendryx was coaching her she would have been much faster but we still congratulate her on setting a goal and accomplishing it. The race is not an easy one - the swim is in the ocean in water temps around 60 degrees. I will put any of our first time triathletes (with a full time job and limited resources) against her in a head to head race any day :-)
There were a bunch of other "stars" in the race - many i have never heard of (lots of soap stars)but some I have - Zack from Bayside High, Anna Kournikova the zero wins in her career tennis player, Kelly from Bayside, The Bachelor guy, some girl from Buffy, and many others.
Congrats to all of them and a great job in raising over $900k for charity.
