I want to share a huge success story for one of our Team Hendryx athletes - Kevin Johnson. Kevin has been a client with Team Hendryx for a little over a year now and has been improving ever since he has been working with us. He is a great athlete and very dedicated to improving his overall results.
He hard work and dedication came to fruition last weekend at the Florida Challenge. Kevin first did this race in 2006 as his first 1/2 ironman - after that he started to race and train a lot more and really work on his overall performances. This year he returned to the Florida Challenge and placed first in his age group - AGE GROUP CHAMPION at one of the hardest 1/2 ironmen in the country.
it is awesome to compare results of these two races because the course has stayed relatively unchanged since 2006 (the bike was 58 miles in 2008 instead of 56 in 2006)
2006 = 6:30 44:12 swim, 3:17 bike, 2:25 run
2008 = 5:54 39:35 swim, 3:06 bike, 2:03 run
this is an improvement of 36 minutes over a 70.3 mile course - 4:37 on the swim, 11 minutes on the bike (on a course that was 2 miles longer) and 22:00 on the run - AMAZING
Congrats to Kevin - he has now signed up for IM FL and we are looking forward to getting him across the finish line at that race so he can hear "Kevin Johnson, you are an Ironman"

Congrats to Kevin! That FL Challenge bike course was tough but we lucked out with good weather. Hopefully the same will be true in Miami.
