Last week was a good training week -w as able to get some miles in and get a good long run in.
Mon - rest day - little stretching and recovery from the long miles - felt a little sore but not super bad!
Tues - speed day - 2 miles warm up, 4x800 at 3:05 was the target. Ran the 800s in 3:00 - could not get the first 200 slow enough to run 3:05. Cool down of 2 miles. We are experimenting with the Yasso method - 10 x 800 at 3:00 says you can run a 3:00:00 marathon - will let you know the result
Weds - 7 easy miles - 7:45 pace - nice run around Orlando - followed this run with some drills to help keep the running form strong
Thurs - 7 mile trail run with some 6:45 paced tempo thrown in - this was an awesome run in Wekiva State Park - followed by a dip in the spring - the spring is probably 65 degrees or so - made the legs feel great after.
Fri - easy 4 miles
Sat - watched Team Hendryx athletes excel at OUC then ran an easy 3 after wards.
Sun - long run day - 17 miles on WOT - 7 miles in the hills. I seem to remain strong in the hills and ran the 7 miles in the hills at 7:23 pace - overall the run was 7:25 pace. Started out a little fast for the first 5 miles but got it to the right pace after that.
Mon - stretching and core workout - my legs felt terrific on Monday - 100% better than last week.
Total miles for the week - 45 or so - with 10 weeks left until the marathon we are in good shape.
Sean is running awesome - he and I ran together and he picked it up the last 5 miles - down to about a 7:00 pace. He is running his 800s at 2:45 pace and handling them well.
