I am not sure what part of 10 items or less people do understand when going to the grocery store - usually the Ten Items Or Less sign is lit up and pretty easy to see.
I am even cool with 11 items, 12 might be pushing it. There was a lady two spots in front of me last night with 10 bags worth of crap - not items - BAGS!
So to quote the great phylosopher (my dad, who is now at the age where he is allowed to say whatever he wants and get away with it) I say to the guy in front of me - "which 10 items do you think she is buying?" Made me feel better and made the guy in front of me laugh - the lady did not find it amusing at all.
I also put some of the blame on the check out specialist at the store - they could kindly say to the customer - "I am sorry, this lane is for 10 items or less" but they usually let this happen.
Someone please explain this mystery to me???
