American Idol Opinions

some of my No Boundaries runners we asking me my opinion on AI last night and I told them who I liked - one of the runners suggested I post comments on my blog about AI - so here it goes.

disclaimer - I can not sing and have little to no rhythm - I Will honestly say that I am not a huge fan of the Beatles and would list 50 other bands in front of them on my favorite list. I am not a big fan of multiple 2 min 30 seconds that all sound a like. However, like every other person - I have an opinion and here it is:

-Syesha - "Got To Get You Into My Life" - she tried for the Earth, Wind and Fire version and it was decent - I was not blown away but it was entertaining
-Chikezie - "She's a Woman" - the bluegrass opening was awesome - and he really looked like he was having fun - I truly enjoyed this song and would not turn it off if I heard it on the radio
-Ramiele - "In My Life" - boring - very boring. I really like this girl and she sings awesome - but this performance left me yawning
-Jason - "If I Feel Like" - I like this dude dreads and I could see him playing in Vail or Breckenridge (if he had not appeared on Idol) to large crowds of ski bums - the song was decent - not great - not bad
-Carly - "Come Together" - awesome - this was a great version - she can really rock - I prefer her rocker image to the other rocker chick. This is a female I would probably pay to see
-David C. - "Eleanor Rigby" - a great version - David is becoming a favorite of mine - I like this dude - I could see him fronting a band someone
-Brooke - "Let it Be" - maybe it is women and pianos but I think they go together and I really like this version of the song - this is another female I would pay to see
-David H - "I Saw Her Standing There" - oh my - this belonged on a cruise ship or on Saved By The Bell at the Max ( you all remember the Max)- horrible
-Amanada - "You Can't Do That" I am not a fan at all - but she did ok with this song - she would do great in a Janis Joplin cover band - I would like to see more bluesy rock and less screaming
-Michael - "Across The Universe" - good not great - he sounding in parts like Pearl Jam
-Kristy - "Eight Days a Week" - ok - I am in the minority here but i liked this song (Told you I can not sing) - it reminded my of that bluegrass album "Pickin On The Beatles"
-David A - "We Can Work It Out" - I would never try to sing anything like Stevie Wonder - ever - he is the king! Then to top it off - he forgets the words - he should feel lucky that the young girls like him and they are the ones that vote.

one more disclaimer - when I write I would pay to see the women that means a lot coming from me - there are only a handful of women I would pay more than $10 to see - Pink, Beth Hart, Janis Joplin - there are not that many women performers who entertain me - I usually end up bored after about 3-4 songs. There are many I like and would listen on the radio - just not pay to see. Carly and Brooke are two that I would risk it and see how it goes.

ave a terrific day - feel free to disagree just do not tell me my opinion is wrong - it is my opinion - your just might be different :-)
