I think I have told you that I have been taking it easy lately, I have run exactly 2 times since the marathon in February. I have been on the spin bike and my bike 4-5 time but only laced up the shoes two time and one time was a race.
So I got my lazy butt off the sofa yesterday and hit the roads. Since Sean and I were meeting our Need For Speed clients yesterday I thought I would head for the track. I decided to do a modified version of my favorite workout.
I warmed up for 15 minutes on the roads around the track - I have never run here before so I went exploring. Then hopped on the track for an 800 (3:00), then back for some more exploring for 15 minutes, back on the track for another 800 (2:57), exploring for 15 minutes, track 800 (2:54) then a cool down for 15 minutes - total run time was just under 1 hr 9 min. It was a fun workout - got a chance to mix in some speed with some easy runs and got a chance to see some new neighborhoods.
This workout is ever more fun if you do miles on the track and can run off the track on trails or dirt roads but it worked. I actually feel pretty good today so I will go out for a nice active recovery run and see how that goes. Only 9 weeks until the 50 miler! Gotta Run!
