Crazy Legz is done and a great time was had by the Fleet Feet/Team Hendryx Team. We were able to defend our title we won last year and also break the course record for average mile pace.
The team was a little different this year as was the course. We lost Steve and Rene' from last years team but added a very capable replacement in Tony S. Tony came to us after running back to back 3:06 marathons (Miami and Tampa).
Our day started at 10:30a at UCF - the other 5 teams had started between 7:30a and 9:30a - so everyone had been out on the course a while before we started. We decide our goal would be to try and catch all the teams before the 61 mile trek was over.
The race is made up of 12 legs - so Sean, Chris, Tony and I all took 3 legs with an average distance of 15 mile each. Some legs were on the roads, some on bike trails and some on single track dirt trails.
We finished the race in 6:42:36 - with an average mile pace of 6:36 - this was a little faster than last year's average of 6:50.
We were the first place overall team and we were able to catch all the teams but one - we finished 9 minutes after one team, but since they started 70 minutes in front of us we were able to defend our title.
