Team Hendryx had 6 athletes racing St Anthony's on Sunday and all did really well. The race was in it's 25th year and had a filed of 4,000 racers including a stellar Pro field. Matt Reed won the race only 1 week after winning the Olympic Trials and earning a spot to Beijing. He killed the course in 1:46:34 (I think they said only 4people have ever gone under 1:47:00 on the course). Reed was second out of the water but took the lead early on the bike and cruised to the finish. He earned a cool $11,000 for his victory.
Team Hendryx Athletes all performed well - they were lead by Coach Sean who clocked a 2:12:23 and placed 146th out of 4,000. His race was smooth and fast from start to finish, clocking his 10k in under 40 minutes.
Steve Griggs - 2:16:50 - another fast performance
Gary Jones - 2:33:22 - PR
Kevin Johnson - 2:37:48 - PR
Mike Reynolds - 3:09:05 - great result with limited swimming because of an injury
Erin Kirk - 3:14:01 - Erin's main focus in a 100 mile ride in a few weeks
Congrats to all the Team Hendryx athletes on their awesome performance.
